*Check your outlets and all electrical holiday decorations for potential fire hazards such as frayed wires or loose connections. Do not overload the outlet circuit.
*Check and clean your heating system to make sure it is in good working conditions for winter months.
*Replace the filter for your furnace.
*Insulate pipes that pass through unheated areas such as crawl space and attics.
*Set your heat no lower than 55 degrees
*Remove screens from window and install storm doors.
*Clean out gutters to allow proper flow.
*Check and replace smoke detector batteries.
